New Paint Job

I have to first give a Golden thanks to Bill Haynes for the awesome paint job that I received this week. Bill and his men did a great job and I am so excited for the updated look!

Well friends, it has been awhile since my last post, but I have been keeping busy here at the grounds. Racing season has begun and Fair Meadows is going every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with FREE admission. What a deal!

We at the grounds have seen the Collie Club of America 2011 National Specialty, Thomas & Friends Live on Stage, Graduations, the Pinto Horse World Show and so much more. There is always something going on and that is just how we like it!

Not only have we had a lot of excitement going on here, but there is so much more to come! The Tulsa Holiday Summer Circuit and the 64th National Appaloosa Horse Show will be headed to the Square. Also, all you shoppers will want to put An Affair of the Heart on the calendar for July 15 - 17.

It sure was great catching up, and I look forward to checking in with you soon.

April brings EVENTS!!!

The time keeps flying by as events move in and out of the complex. The Tulsa Gun Show just finished up this past weekend and boy what a turnout! The upcoming events include the Collie Club of America 2011 National Specialty, All American Mule and Donkey Congress the Great Southwest Home Show and of course lots of Flea Markets!These are events that will definitely bring excitement to the facility! The Fair countdown has begun and we are less than six months from the 2011 Tulsa State Fair. I know I am ready to "Get Carried Away!" Keep checking the website as updates are coming. The events keep coming and the weather keeps getting warmer! You know what this means? Well, nothing but excitement around the square of course!

The International Auto Show is coming up this weekend, March 17 - 20, and the cars are always fun to see. You also won't want to miss the Bead Market and Rope the Ozarks while you are here.

The fairgrounds is buzzing with anticipation and planning for the upcoming 2011 Tulsa State Fair and boy will it be a good one. With the awesome entertainment in place and new addditions and adjustments being made, this is definitely going to be fun for all!

Well, I am always happy to talk about the happenings at the Square and I hope to see you all out soon!

What Events to Attend?!

Hey Everybody, I am sure everyone is getting excited that the weather is starting to warm up a little bit! And with this warm weather, that means that there will be absolutely no problems getting out for all of the great events!

This weekend you won't want to miss all of the great events that are happening around the grounds. Look at it this way, by coming Saturday alone, you can find ways to update your home and garden, take a look at many different gun collections and accessories at the RK Gun and Knife Show. Then finally, stroll through the Tulsa Flea Market and find new discoveries that you either never knew existed or possibly have been just plain searching for for who knows how long. Then on Sunday, bring the kids back for Disney Live! Presents Mickey's Magic Show.

Whew, what a weekend here at the square! I just love these event-full weekends!

Chilly Outside, Chili Inside

BUURRRR!!! It is Chilly outside and Chili inside! The weather may be cold, but that doesn't keep the racers and the fans from getting into the excitement at the 25th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl. The event will come to a close on January 15, and a 2011 Chili Bowl champion will be named.

While you are on grounds and in the racing spirit, you won't want to miss the other great events Expo has to offer. The remote control car races will be in the Mustang Arena, January 12 - 14. If you are looking for auto parts, then head over to the Block Auction in the Super Duty Arena, January 14 & 15.

If only I could drive, oh well, at least I get to see all of the exciting car events here at Expo this weekend!

I hear Wedding Bells!

The Oklahoma Wedding Show will be this Saturday, January 8, from 10am to 4pm, located at Central Park Hall. All those who hear wedding bells should come with your planners in hand! The all-in-one event will feature over $12,000 in prizes and fashion shows at 11am and 2pm. Get ready for an event that will put any bride at ease!

The Tulsa Flea Market will open from 8am to 4pm in the Super Duty Arena. You never know what you may find at the Flea Market, and if you want to set-up a booth, well you can do that too!

The events keep on coming, as the Super Shows Gun and Knife Show will be in the Exchange Center, January 8 and 9. Metcalf Gun Shows has always produced a high level gun show for its customers.

Well, I have done my part by telling you the exciting events that are going to be out here this weekend, now I am excited to see everyone come out!

New Year, Classic Events

The thought of 2011 only makes me excited to know of what an Event-ful year lies ahead!

New Year's Day will be the last day of three calssic events at Expo, the Tournament of Champions, the Drysdales Tulsa Holiday Circuit and the Tulsa Shootout.

The Tournament of Champions gets High School basketball fans right into the action as they cheer on their favorite teams as they go for the title. This is always a favorite!

The Holiday Circuit is a tradition that lives on at Expo Square. Bring on the competition and the American Quarter Horse Association. Drysdales brings this event every December to the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex and I always love it! What isn't there to love about the holidays and a horse show?

The Tulsa Shootout is the prelude to the 25th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals. The Shootout is sponsored by Hoosier Tires and is the first all open-wheel edition of the shootout with six classes of Micro Sprint Cars. Man can I hear those cars and I know the crowd loves to hear those engines roar, as well! The thrill and excitement brings the entertainment back year after year, and you better believe it is just great!

This is just the opening day of 2011! You can only imagine what the rest of 2011 has in store for Expo Square. Stay tuned to find out!

Holiday Spirit!

I have to say that I am fully in the Holiday spirit! This week will be our quiet week before we start back at full speed next week for a full line-up of excitement!

Next week will begin with Mike Johnson's World's Richest Calf Roping, on Monday, December 27 followed by the Tournament of Champions and the Holiday Circuit. The Annual Shoot-Out will begin December 29 and end January 1.

These classic events are making me excited already! More info to come, but for now, everyone have a safe and happy holiday!

Ready for some Basketball!

I can not tell you how excited I am that there is so much basketball going on right now! Booker T. Washington is bringing their schedule out here to the Pavilion and it is bringing out so many memories for me!

The Pavilion and basketball go hand and hand. My advice to any basketball fan is to make sure that you are out here on game nights!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Man, I am excited about this weekend! Where else can you see a large Farm Expo, Rodeo Finals, a Flea Market, Basketball and drop off toys for Toys for Tots?

The Tulsa Farm Show uses 250,000 square feet of space in the QuikTrip Center to showcase the latest products, methods and opportunities to meet the experts in the industry.

Opportunities to help the community never cease to amaze me and Tulsa Abate is definitely making a difference! Toys for Tots donations will be collected in the Exchange Center Saturday, December 11, from 12pm - 8pm and Sunday, December 12, from 10am - 1pm.

The Tulsa Flea Market is an Expo tradition and this Saturday it will be held at Central Park Hall from 8am - 4pm. You never know what you may find there!

In the mood for a little bball? Well, head over to the Pavilion next Monday for the Booker T. Washington vs. Tulsa Rogers game. High School basketball definitely spells excitement to me, (fortunately my height allows me to see the Pavilion from my post over by the QuikTrip Center!)

With all the excitement here, I just can't imagine not seeing everyone here this weekend!

Hello and Happy Turkey Day! This weekend I am so excited to welcome the American Bicycle Association Grand Nationals to Expo Square!

The QuikTrip Center will be transformed into an extreme course for competitors to show what they have got. I know I am excited for all of our visitors to get to experience this first hand!

You won't want to miss the ABA Spectacular Friday, at 7:30pm. Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at the Expo Xpress box office. For ticket info, call (918)376-6000 or visit www.exposquare.com. I know the people in the ticket office and they will make sure that you are taken care of!

While you are at the fairgrounds, make sure you stop by the Flea Market located at the Exchange Center. Hours are 8am - 4pm and admission is free.

2010 Fair...Here and Gone

Well Folks, the 2010 Tulsa State Fair seemed like an 11 day whirlwind, but boy was it fun! There were 1,097,000 people who made it to the Fair and we hope they enjoyed it as much as we did! We want to thank everyone who attended and can't wait to see you back next year!

What were some of my Fair Favorites?! Where do I begin... watching guests come in, the photo ops, families having fun. You name it and it was my favorite. With the 2010 Fair coming to an end, that only brings way for more exciting events.

I can't wait to watch the set-up for the Tulsa Farm Show, December 9 - 11, and the holiday parties, how we have the perfect facilities for all types of holiday parties. Our staff is just great about making sure that you are taken care of!

Live Horse Racing

So, I just wanted to take a moment to share with you my thoughts on the Fair Meadows Live Horse Races. Ummm... AWESOME!!!

This summer event comes into town June thru July and brings excitement and entertainment. The Sports Loft is available to rent or grandstand seating gives that "get in the action feel."

Bring the entire family out or make it date night at the races. If you want to eat before the races, Fair Meadows Sports Grill has a large menu with plenty of options for everyone. And don't forget the complimentary popcorn...always delicious!

June Already!

I officially knew it was June when the heat began to rise and I saw Big Splash open from a distance. Summer is here already and that brings great events like the Leake Car Auction, the Pinto Horse Association, Palomino Horse Breeders of America and the summer show of An Affair of the Heart. This is only the beginning of what I am told.

Exciting news on the Fair front, the new Tulsa State Fair website is up and running! I was told to pass along the message that updates are coming daily and info will be out as soon as it is solidified. All of you in the Livestock area don't worry, the entry forms and information is up.

Boy, time flies when you are having fun and I am always having fun here at Expo! Everyone stop by and see me!

Spring is Here!

Well, it has been awhile since I have written my latest thoughts. It has been so busy around here with all of the events, and even preparations for the Fair! That is right, it may seem too soon to be thinking about the Fair, but the Fair Department works year-round to make sure the Fair is the best it can be for all of its visitors.

The 2010 Tulsa State Fair will be launching its new website very soon. You should soon see Facebook and Twitter updates with details.

Well, it is time for me to continue enjoying this beautiful weather and the awesome events that fill Expo's walls.

Keeping busy and waiting for the snow to melt!

The time has gone by so quickly with all of the events here at Expo! From the Chili Bowl to the Boat Show, I just love seeing such excitement here!

The snow continues and we are waiting for the sun to come out and warm us up and melt all of the snow, but in the meantime I will just enjoy all of the great things to do here on the grounds.

I have been hearing on the new and exciting plans for this year's Fair! (Rumor has it that they should be releasing new info soon)! This is my favorite time of the year and always love the tradition and the new aspects that are always so much fun.

Can't wait to see what is to come, but I know it will be great!

Welcoming 2010 with Events and Excitement

With a new year approaching, it only makes me excited to see all of the events either making their way back to Expo Square, or making their debut at our awesome complex!

January jumps right into big excitement with the Shoot Out, Oklahoma Wedding Show and the Chili Bowl. I can hear the engines starting and the wedding bells ringing already!

2010 brings opportunities to attend events and also host your own. Expo Square has facilities that cater to just about any event and the staff is great to work with!

As 2009 becomes a time of the past, I look forward to a brand new year and a brand new opportunity to see everyone here at Expo. Get excited for an Event-full year and a Fair that will blow your socks off!

It is hard to believe that the days of bright decorative lights, carols and bright red and green sweaters are back already!

I have so enjoyed the lights that my neighbors have shared and all of the different Holiday parties that have been here at Expo Square this year. It is always great to see old faces, but just as exciting to see all of the new ones.

2009 brought so many great events and a great Fair (even though the weather wasn't so kind). We know 2010 will bring even more great events to Tulsa and we look forward to seeing everyone throughout the year here at Expo Square! Stop by and see the good ol' Golden Driller!
